SURAMOON takes place at Villa Aranjaya, an exquisite private country estate in Sicily. Surrounded by biodiverse orange groves, carefully cultivated in harmony with nature and moving beyond the rigid principles of monoculture, the estate offers a sheltered space that combines tranquillity with a sense of spaciousness. Here, Rudolf von Freyberg-Eisenberg has been growing organic citrus fruit for decades on land that has belonged to his family for hundreds of years. Palm trees, mature trees, natural stone and water shape the atmosphere of Villa Aranjaya, situated in eastern Sicily on the Plain of Catania, in the municipality of Scordia.

Mount Etna on the horizon accompanies the week as a powerful presence in the landscape and a symbol of the elements. These surroundings become an active part of the experience, rather than simply a backdrop. Between scheduled activities, there are many opportunities to spend time alone, read, write or simply be still. The pool, sauna and orange groves invite you to spend time outdoors and become more consciously aware of your surroundings.

The food, too, offers culinary delights and is an intentional part of the retreat: seeing, smelling, tasting and sharing continually bring our attention back to the present moment. Walks and guided herb walks deepen our connection with nature. A shared excursion to Catania midway through the week brings movement, colour, sound and Sicilian life into the journey. Together, these experiences create a setting where therapy, nature and everyday life can come together in harmony.
